Sabahans make up more than 13% of the population of Malaysia but they
are insulted by the Merdeka Day celebration which is historically
incorrect and has no meaning to true Malaysians.

What should the result of the survey be in Sarawak that makes up
another 12% of the population of Malaysia?

Permatang Pasir defeat - blow for Muhyiddin

By now I bet most Malaysians just like to listen to the wisdom of our dear DPM Muhyiddin Yassin. For the fun of it, of course. Now the result of Permatang Pasir is out, we all know that the wind blew directly on his face, after he claimed that “there is a wind of change blowing in the constituency”. Perhaps we all misread his message, that the wind of change that he referred to was the wind of change from Mar 2008.

As pointed out by RPK’s analysis, PAS effectively safeguarded its original margin of victory in 2008 despite fighting in a by-election confronted with carrot (”promises of development”) and sticks (intimidation) from the ruling block Barisan Nasional.

Let’s examine these perspectives:

25% of Permatang Pasir voters are Chinese, who are predominantly opposition supporters, especially in the immediate aftermath of Teoh Beng Hock affair, which was extensively covered by Chinese media but conspicuously missing (or twisted) on Malay media;

It is commonly known that many Malaysians of Chinese descent nowadays work in large cities, as far away as Singapore. I won’t be surprised many of the 25% Chinese voters belong to this category.

The polling is on a Tuesday, not even Monday or Friday. So a very long extended weekend is needed if those voters who are outstation wish to go home and cast their vote. They likely wasted their votes yesterday.

The final voter turnout is 73%, much lower than 82.6% in 2008, a drop of 9.6%
25% of total voters of 20,350 is 5,087. Assuming the average turnout applies across the board, there were 4,201 in this group who cast their votes in 2008, versus 3,713 yesterday. A drop of 488.

As analysed by RPK, PAS obtained 65.5% of valid votes yesterday, compared to 66.39% in 2008, a gap of mere 0.89%. PAS was actually missing 390 votes to bridge the gap. It seems that these 390 votes may very well be the missing votes from those outstation Chinese voters – 80% of 488 above.

In other words, the wind of change as demanded by the rakyat in 2008 is still blowing very strongly in the direction of Pakatan Rakyat.

Najib Speak Out Against Caning of Kartika

Najib speaks out against caning amid international attention

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 25 – Datuk Seri Najib Razak today urged Islamic authorities to only enforce physical punishment as the last resort, in a thinly-veiled reference to a Syariah court decision to cane a Muslim woman caught drinking beer.

In his speech at the launch of Women’s Day celebrations here, the Prime Minister said Islam encourages its followers to repent for their past actions.

“Islam is about compassion and mercy, physical punishment should be the last resort,” said Najib, without specifically mentioning the Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno case.

“Most importantly, it presents an opportunity to correct and to redeem oneself. I hope the right people will hear what I said,” he added.

His statement came hours after it was revealed that Pahang Syariah Court of Appeal would revise the decision to cane Kartika.

Earlier, Najib had urged her to appeal against the decision in a sign that the federal government was trying to avoid the punishment from being carried out as the case has attracted international attention and caused embarrassment to the administration.

Kartika was caught drinking beer in a hotel in Najib’s home state of Pahang. The part time model was fined RM5,000 and sentenced to six strokes of the cane.

Yesterday, religious authorities gave a last-minute, temporary reprieve in the case that has stirred passions over the increasingly strict enforcement of Islamic law in recent years.

Kartika was detained by prison authorities yesterday but was then released.

Legal experts have criticised the caning as it could open up the state government to legal action.

Andy Lau's father-in-law died in Malaysia

Last wish of Carol Chu's dad - to see her wed Lau

THE last wish of Carol Chu's father was to see his daughter finally settling down with Hong Kong superstar Andy Lau, China Press reported.

The elder Chu had expressed sadness many times that his daughter had to contend with "hiding behind the lenses" as the unofficial Mrs Lau but he could not do anything as it was her choice.

There was talk that Lau had bought property in Malaysia in Carol's name in a bid to lessen the family's disappointment.

The couple had planned to marry in April but the wedding was called off at the last minute and postponed indefinitely after it was leaked to the media.

The elder Chu, 73, died on Tuesday after a five-hour surgery to remove a blood clot.

It is not known if the superstar would attend the funeral, the paper said.

A RM100,000 funeral would be held for Chu and the cost, including for the purchase of a coffin, was borne by Lau and the Chu siblings.

The daily also reported that Lau and Carol had returned to Malaysia to visit Chu before his death.

See here, whilst sada's main points were about
POLITICAL equality....notice that we cunningly
TWISTED it into a RACIAL issue to demonise
the fellow....and then we ATTACK this RACIAL
point that we ourself created.....so that we DO NOT
need to address those GLARING inequalities that
he mentioned in his speech that has NOTHING to
do with RACE or is inside constitution....like getting
discounts when buying condos and being REWARDED
for losing BILLIONS.

See how smart we are to side step the real issues
and bring up the RACE issue to fool you ordinary

So grow up....we have already stated it...EQUALITY
is high falutin and is NOT REALITY....no practical.
So let us the elites to continue in this feudal system of

The doctor who is causing all the deaths in Malaysia

Subject: The idiot that is causing all the deaths in Malaysia

I have been reading comments on the statements made by this idiotic
doctor this week but this is the original word made by him.

They are indeed idiotic and full of conjectures, devoid of any fact at
all.

What figure does he have to use 20 times as the estimate for the
number of cases of swine flu? If this estimate were used, then the
same estimate should also be used for normal flu that does not have
any formal testing at all, so the rate for normal flu is only 0.02/20,
i.e. lower than 0.001% for the whole year which is consistent with the
US inflated estimate(0.01%) of Normal Flu deaths, where 50% of
pneumonia deaths were attributed to Flu using a special unproven and
unsubstantiated model. In 2001, only 257 were confirmed to have died
of flu, instead of thousands.

BAsed on the early confirmed results, it was 0.4% for Malaysia. It was
more reliable in the early days because tests were actually conducted
on suspected cases and deaths. It was still under reported but so were
the deaths.

Many unnecessary deaths that will not happen if it were not for the
Swine Flu, were not reported as swine flu induced deaths as this
stupid doctor had suggested, but wrongly indeed. Almost all deaths
reported all over the world are not due to swine flu. The 15 figure
quoted by him here is just a stupid guess. But all over the world had
the sense to indicate that swine flu is the contributing factor
leading to their deaths because without swine flu, they will not have
died.

With such idiotic doctors being widespread in Malaysia, it is not
surprising to note that many deaths were under reported. In fact, I
have just heard a rumour that a suspected swine flu patient were put
next to patients that mysteriously died one after the other.

These deaths were never diagnosed as being due to Swine Flu because
they were hospitalised for other diseases, but will become fatal if
exposed to swine flu.

Don’t spread the panic, too

THERE has been much alarm over the rising number of cases and fatality
rates and rightly so, because influenza A(H1N1) is a very infectious
disease.

While alarm and widespread panic is not necessary, there exists the
pressing need to restrategise and implement mechanisms and Standard
Operating Procedures (SOP) for the prevention of secondary bacterial
pneumonia. A(H1N1) spreads by droplets and so is easily transmitted.
The director-general of Health calls it a high attack rate.

For a country of 27 million, struggling with this crisis since April
this year, and with national and international transport being so
widely used, 4,200 reported cases so far is severe under-reporting.

There are probably 20 times the number of cases out there that are not
reported. Because of this, many countries have stopped trying to
report the number of new cases.

Unfortunately, 67 have died in Malaysia. But if you were to be
objective, 67 deaths, out of a possible 70-80,000 cases, gives a death
rate of 0.08%. Still a bit higher than the usual seasonal flu death
rate of 0.04%, but surely not anywhere near panic proportions.

A closer look at the deaths revealed that 80% were A(H1N1) associated,
or were incidentally found to have contracted the virus, the virus by
no means causing the death.

We can call this A(H1N1) associated death or death with incidental A
(H1N1) infection. So, if the certification of death is proper, it may
be that only 15 deaths were actually due to A(H1N1), giving a fatality
rate of 0.02%. This is why we need to consolidate measures that are
already in place.

This should include a national level SOP whereby all affected patients
with secondary bacterial pneumonias would be immediately triaged for
intensive tertiary level care.

There is no cause for panic but we should all be vigilant.

Sack Incompetent MACC Chief

Local: Fri, Aug 14 2009 8:18 pm
Subject: Sack Incompetent MACC Chief!

Dato' Sri Haji Ahmad Said bin Hamdan probably has the hottest seat in
town... ;-p

MACC Chief Commissioner, Dato' Sri Haji Ahmad Said bin Hamdan should
be sacked for demonstrating sheer incompetence in the investigations
over the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) RM12.5 billions scandal.

The PKFZ special taskforce which was set up only in June 2009 has
within a period of 3 months determined with strong evidence of about
RM1 billion in fees charged by PKFZ developer, Kuala Dimensi Sdn Bhd
(KDSB) “to be either over-charged, unsubstantiated or even possibly
fraudulent”. This amount which is described by the taskforce as “the
tip of the iceberg” constitutes nearly 30% of the overall project cost
of RM3.522 billion, excluding interest costs.

The scandal includes possible fraudulent claims on electrical
infrastructure worth RM55.8mil and 33kv supply works and civil
infrastructure works worth RM83mil which were never carried out. No
documents and justifications were also provided for more than RM550
million in charges and variation orders.

Despite the fact that the first Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) report
which was made way back in December 2004, and as many as 3 further
subsequent reports were made with regards to PKFZ by Ronnie Liu on
various corruption, abuse of power and mismanagement allegations, the
ACA and subsequently, MACC has found absolutely nothing worthy of
detailed investigation on the project and closed all the above files.

Even after the chairman of Port Klang Authority (PKA) which owns PKFZ
had himself filed an MACC report in May 2009 based on the
Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PwC) report on PKFZ, the commission has
continued to make little or no progress on the investigations.

In fact, despite the size and scale of the scandal which implicates
corruption and abuse of power to the highest levels, including several
ministers and prominent elected representatives, MACC has not even
conducted any interviews with the ministers, including Tun Ling Liong
Sik and Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy, as well as the other BN politicians.

Hence the findings of fraud and over-charging by the PKFZ special
taskforce has proven the complete failure, ineffectiveness and
negligence by Ahmad Said and MACC, whether intentional or otherwise
for the latter could not detect any of the various misdeeds which
added up to RM1 billion of tax-payers' monies. In line with Najib's
call for “people first, performance now”, Ahmad Said must be held
accountable and hence resign or be removed from his position.

What makes the whole circumstance repulsive is the fact that while
MACC had neglected mega-scandals like PKFZ, they have left no stones
unturned in their efforts to detect corruption among DAP and Pakatan
Rakyat representatives in Selangor, even if it means going to the
level of check every RM100 receipts!

It is MACC's reckless and relentless pursuit of such political
victimisation that the political secretary to Selangor state executive
councillor, Ean Yong Hian Wah, the late Teoh Beng Hock was found dead
at the premises of MACC, all for a RM2,400 transaction involving the
purchase of Malaysian flags.

A new Chief Commissioner should be appointed to ensure that MACC stops
being a political tool of the Barisan Nasional government to harrass
DAP and Pakatan Rakyat MPs and state assemblymen whose total combined
allocations does not exceed RM20 million while completely neglecting
the real corrupt sharks which have fleeced the country of billions of
ringgit.

Govt now says study is on Internet usage only

CYBERJAYA, Aug 7 — With the government at sixes and sevens over a controversial plan to filter the Internet, the Malaysian Communication and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today clarified it is only proposing a study to “gauge the use of the Internet in a positive and safe manner”.

The commission said reports on the study has been taken out of context and sensationalised although information, communication and culture minister Datuk Seri Rais Yatim confirmed this morning that authorities aim to police the Internet to shut out smut.

However, prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak said later in the day that the government will not censor the Internet.

No matter how this idiot of a minister skins it, censorship is still censorship. He can disguise it as protecting children from unsavory materials, he can say that it is for the benefit of racial harmony, it doesn't change the fact that the government is practicing "The Government Knows Best Policy", which incidently, Najib claimed earlier on that is not what they are doing.

I don't need to Government to tell me what I can or cannot do. I was raised by my parents to know better. Hence, it is the job of the parents to ensure that their children are raised and protected from unsavory materials. There are an overabundance of net filters out there. Some free to download that parents can use to protect their children from unsavory websites. All it takes is just a simple download and install. Done. No more pornography for people (children included) who does not have the password.

Its the parent's job to be parents. Not yours... Mister Moronic Mister Sir (that means you Rais)...

This Government has completely lost the plot. Its amazing how Najib is passing the batons and stewardship of this country to relics who does not understand nor care to understand the mindset of its people. Times have changed dear Ministers. And like the times, so too have the people. Either you change with the times, or make way for people who are in the know.

Either way, come next election, I will do all I can to get rid of this ancient-backwards-thinking government. Count on it!

Excuse me Mr. I Live Under a Coconut Shell Orphaned Grain (Rice Yatim), child sex has been happening a lot even before the advent of the internet. The highest of them being incest. So I think moral problems existed for a long time already. The idea that blocking porn from the internet will curb these ills is preposterous and it insults the intelligence of every Malaysian. While I'm no supporter of internet porn (in fact there are some really sick stuff out there), this approach of "Green Dam" filtering is akin to slapping a band aid on a badly infected wound. It will not solve the problem.

If you ban it on the internet, those "resourceful" people will find a way to get the porn they want. And who knows, may even create profitable criminal enterprises for it. Just look at what happened to America during the Prohibition Era, where they banned the consumption and sale of alcohol, other than medicinal and religious purposes. Those 10 years or so of Prohibition actually enriched the crime syndicates and eventually laid down the groundwork for a nation wide crime syndicate known as the Mafia. Try to imagine of the same were to happen here? It's not impossible you know!

2. Allow unrestricted employment of local and foreign knowledge workers.

10. Provide an effective one-stop agency - the Multimedia Development Corporation.

We have to act NOW...

why so sudden in war against porno? the people should never allow this restriction to take root because it will soon expand in the most unobtrusive manner on other areas such as news portal & blogsphere.

just look at isa, 1st against communist, then against undefined 'national treats', later against oppositions, then against people with different views (i.e. rpk), then detention as a protection for civilian (sin chew journalist).

there is no way we must allow another draconian rule. nip it at the bud. bn know there is way they can win the cyber war because they of their misdeeds. political progress in malaysia can only be achieved through internet!

There are so many ways to begin with to evade the green dam. Proxies are a start, and VPN's not too bad. So what're they gonna do? Ban everything? And who will draw the line as to what is banned and what is not?

I can't believe our ICC Minister is so outdated and slow. Can we please choose someone who's more tech savvy?

Filtering dont work. And it slows the Internet. Internet is already slow. Putting the filter will just make it worst. The only beneficiary will be a crony company with a multi million contract and who will subcon it to someone else.

EXCUSES AND MORE EXCUSES.

Everybody knows what they up to, but they still pretend innocent.

Examples:
- scrap car, bullshit: environmental friendly, reality: boost car sales, save Proton.
- biodiesel, bullshit: environmental friendly, reality: boost palm oil demand, jerk up price, and rakyat benefit neither from high palm oil price or low.
- plant more forest, bullshit; environmental friendly, reality: permanent reserved forest clear cut to make may to plant more rubber "trees", to increase rubber production.
- Malaysian green damn, bullshit: internet environmental friendly to children, reality: you know I know, everybody frigging know, just they pretend dunno.

Child pornography? So is our MACC prince aka MAS co-pilot one of the "victim"?

Internet censorship! Malaysia is turning into a COMMUNIST country. GOOD JOB on promoting CENSORED broadband. We are on the way building our own Malaysia boleh version of internet great wall. Bravo!

- - - - - - - -

How it should be done? As if internet is some local network that you can easily block things on the firewall.

Is it like the China Green Dam where they force install on each new PC? Or is it some simple twigs on the ISP like how government "promoted" malaysiakini.com? Or is it some gigantic hardware firewall mounted in the main telekom hub?

It is gonna be a big mega project, 4 companies? Which 4 companies? What is the criteria to select any of them? Are they having any connection with the gorvernment? Will we ever know what justify every single penny spent? How do we implement it? How do we maintain it? How do we ensure that it is not something futile or useless? How do we make sure that this is no a giant white internet elephant? And most importantly, WHO IS THE ONE TO DECIDE WHAT TO CENSOR?

But I just can't help but to think what really lies beneath the noble mask.

No to censorship, especially by the Malaysian government.

This is just the start. They'll try to pull the wool over everyone's eyes by targeting some "immoral" activity. Once that's achieve, they'll enlarge the scope of what they define as "bad" for Malaysians. Before you know it, most of the websites that they find disagreeable will be blocked.

Any censorship is a dangerous thing.

It would be interesting to know what the filter will add to their current blocking technique, which is to poison TM's nameservers. We saw that when m2day was blocked, and again when The Malaysian Insider reported Teresa Kok's PM Question about blocked sites.

That could easily be extended to the other ISPs by simple agreement, with a list maintained by the Polis, or by the courts. So what extra will a gazillion Ringgit project give us? They have something that ALREADY WORKS - what is this going to be?

I'd really love to see the government try to censor the Internet. Even the China government has failed to do such a thing, what more Msian government. Any IT or tech savvy student would know that it is impossible to censor anything on the Internet.

It's a sign of dangerous times when the government is trying to be the Big Brother and block information at this time and age of the Internet. It's a form of suppression. They'll start by filtering out porn sites, but it's a beginning of things to come. Soon, they'll start to block m2day, at other left wing sites that don't kow tow to Najib's administration. I dare the government try to filter the Internet.

They're miserable attempt to block sites such as gutteruncensored.com, which featured a lot of Nazri Aziz and the PM's son frolicking about with girls (which definately make them look bad). They already started censoring the Internet as we speak.

As I said, their meager, miserable attempts will fail. Najib, remember, if you try to keep your people suppressed, and controlling the free-flow information of the Internet, you and your government will fall.

You could have MACC to catch all the coruptors but is this working? We could have Police to fight the criminal but is this working?

We should focus to educate our younger generation. We should have a better goverment to lead this country. We should vote wisely!

Parents if you don't want your children to surf for pr0n, check out OpenDNS.com. It's free. You can also talk to your kids. It's free, too.

I don't want our tax dollars to go to the crony who wins the tender and charges millions per year for installation, monitoring and maintenance. (Probably won't work properly, too.)
